African Quilts For Sale

Prior to our trip to Sweetwaters, South Africa to teach the Zulu community new quilting skills, friends, family, customers and fellow quilters knew that the Mzansi Quilt Centre made and sold quilts and many placed orders for completed quilts for us to bring home for them.

It was such a huge thrill to purchase the quilts from the quilters, because we had learned first hand what a difference the sales would make to their lives. By selling one quilt a family can buy food for 4 months and the sale of multiple quilts will enable the quilt maker to install hydro into their home and bring water to their property. Their livelihood depends on selling these beautiful quilts and genuine works of art. Each quilt has a label sewn on the back with a photo and story about the quilt maker so you can learn more about them and their family. These stories will truly touch your heart.

Upon returning to Canada, people have continued to ask how they can support and help such a fantastic program. It is our privilege to continue selling quilts on behalf of the Mzansi Quilters.

Both Jane and I have been placing orders for African quilts and they have been selling quite well. These quilts are of various fabrics, different quilt patterns and made by the quilters that are at all different skill levels. They are priced at approximately $200 and that money goes directly to the quilt maker (less 10% the centre retains for expenses).
